Good Lord! I feel sorry for the innocent birds-many of whom will be bought on a whim by people who have no idea of how to care for them. :(

that's the saddest part of it all. Let's just hope the new owners find their way here! :)

Hmmmmm

Maybe we could put a call in to the auctioneer and let them know this site exists? Maybe print up a few fliers and mail them to the site, so the new owners will at least have a reference point? I don't know who officially runs the site, and we would need their permission. But it's something to consider...

ya i heard about this yesterday and posted it on another board. what is scary when i was searching for a gray i had originally contacted them but decided against them because i felt they were too big outfit to give the baby much socialization. thankfully i got my jojo elsewhere
they are nothing more and no better then a puppy mill

I don't really like to see pet auctions. It just doesn't seem like the right way to sell an animal. You mine as well be selling animals on Ebay :?

Don't loose all hope yall, 1-2 tweet mostly has breeder birds. I have seen them at the shows. Their birds are more often than not VERY HEALTHY. The pets are generally well socialized. Take heart in the knowledge that most of the time when breeders sell off like this they sell to other breeders instead of the general public. All birds as a group sort of thing. If for nothing else than to get a better price. At least that way the birds are with someone who knows what they are doing.

Most breeders are pretty selective when it comes to their moms and pops. :)
