"Sex and the Psittacine" - Sat, Dec. 2nd

Saturday, December 2nd
"Sex and the Psittacine"
Dr. Elisabeth Simone - Freilicher, D.V.M.
Veterinary Medical Center

Time: 1 - 4 pm

Location: 242 E. 53 Street
(next door to the Quest Book Shoppe)
New York, NY

Unlike most other species, birds get their cues for when to be hormonal from their environment. What this means is that many times we can decrease hormonal behavior and moodiness in our pet birds through environmental changes. Find out how to turn off your "turned on" bird or how to prevent this behavior in the future.

Come join us for lots of laughter and a very educational afternoon.

Bio:
Dr. Freilicher is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University, and has over 15 years experience in pet bird biology, husbandry, behavior, and medicine. As a veterinary student, she actively participated in research and coursework in avian and exotic medicine (including pet fish medicine), and was honored with the Senior Clinical Award for Outstanding Study of Avian Medicine. Following a one-year internship at West Hills Animal Hospital, Dr. Freilicher was invited to stay on as West Hills’ first Avian and Exotic resident. Her residency now completed, Dr. Freilicher has also completed the rigorous credentialing process toward becoming board-certified in Avian medicine.

Admission: $5
