You don't have to answer that question and if you do I won't consider it "flaming". Anyway................ last February and March, while I was waiting to bring home Sophie, I made a bunch of different cages for my fids. Ended up only using one of them, Benji's.
I was sitting back yesterday looking at all their cages thinking there had to be a way to make them a bit more roomy. So as I was contemplating this looking at Sophie's cage "addition" came to mind. As in "room addition". So the old thinker took off runnin!! As I was figuring out a way to increase the size of Zoey's cage it dawned on me she already has a bigger cage.
The problem with Zoey's bigger cage was I perceived that she didn't like it. At the time I decided SHE didn't like it, Zoey was starting her first molt and had a new neighbor, Sophie. So that swith I will make today.
Benji, who is the one that got this started in the first place, will benefit by getting Zoey's old cage.
As for Sophies cage I am going to increase the height of it, the current dimensions are 32w x 23d x 32h and will be changed to 32w x 23d x 48h. That height will still leave room to play on the outside of the cage and not be able to reach the FS light fixture. I think this might be cool. I am more concerned with good functionality as opposed to being pretty.
When I gets me one of them HUGE thousand square foot places, then maybe I'll think pretty.

The bigger the house the more crap you shove in it. LOL I was in a small apt then moved to a town house, (1,400 sq feet I think it is) & thought wow, look at all this space. Now I look around & think, darn where did all the space go. Furniture, computers, 3 big bird cages, etc. Thats where the space goes. LOL I love the fids though & wouldn't trade them for anything. Benji gets lost in this cage. The bar spacing may be too big for him, if so I guess I'll have to break down and buy him a new cage.







Zoey is ok with her new digs. Already doing her afternoon chirping and stuff.







Sophie climbed in and took a look around and off she went climbing!!!






sad part is with the extra room in each of their cages, they look empty now!! Dang it!!! I gotta go buy more toys!!!

or get a bigger bird. LOL. You just missed a large bird mart in san jose. They have great prices on all bird stuff (from cages to food to cleaning). like last year i bought a huge boing for my amazon for $10 and a gallon of poop off for about $25

I see that Benji has quite a few bells at the bottom of his cage... ..to keep him occupied/company.....

Yep and those bells are the biggest "foot" toy he will get!!!
