nandays baned in PA?

whats this i here about an upcoming ban on nandays in PA? the 3 reasons are:
1. because they are noisy.
2. because they are related to quakers.
3. because 2 groups want it. no not peta, and humane society, but the power companies.
no more to be brought to that state, and those who already have a naday, it will be distroyed? could this be an urban myth? i hope so.

anyone out there in PA heard abut this?

It's no Urban myth, I'm afraid.

It's possible that there may be a "grandfather" clause (existing pets would be protected), however I haven't heard that from an official source.

The 'reason' is that the Nandays are supposedly a danger to wildlife and people, and can survive the harsh PA winters. :/

(Really, none of this holds much ground. Budgies are far more likely to survive a PA winter, and the dangers from them are just about the same, and small at that!) Letters about this matter will be accepted by the board up until the 27th, and on the 29th the meetings should be over.. As a Nan owner, I'm concerned. If this passes, and there is indeed no grandfather clause, I will be moving out of state ASAP.

Actually, conures would probably have a better chance of surviving harsh winters than budgies... as there are a lot of wild conures/quakers in the states but I don't know of any budgie flocks... sure, I've seen pictures of wild budgies, but no flocks or they don't last long... not sure how that is though.... but conures and quakers come from South America and budgies from Australia.

Supposedly though this all started in October... I suggest keeping a watch on the other thread about this subject...
