Traveling (need advice please)

I might spend the whole day tomorrow at my boyfriend's parent's house and want to bring Nemo (my Parrotlet) with me, if possible. I have a small plastic travel container but don't want to use that on him tomorrow.

I'm thinking of running to Petsmart and buying this:

What do you guys think? Or should I just leave him at home?

The thing is, I will be going on vacation in less than a month and Nemo's going to be staying there, so I do want my boyfriend's mom to meet him and for him to get somewhat used to her as well (so he won't stress as much when that time comes). Any suggestions on what I can do?

It's not possible to bring his cage with me -- it's a little too big to fit into the car.

In short, I think it'd be a fine travel cage for Nemo.
