One of our Birdboard Supporters...

is so thoughtful, she contacted me to order a cage to donate to Charlie, an African Grey who lives at a rescue. Charlie is is a very sad story and she wanted to give him a nice Christmas present. Below is Charlie's picture. This person, who asked to remain anonymous, purchased a 32 x 23 playtop cage from our store for Charlie, along with a ton of toys. Charlie had a tumor removed from his head, which has left a hole. As you can see, he is also extremely plucked.

I could not let this most generous and thoughtful deed go unannounced, although I would love to let everyone know who this wonderful person is. However, since I keep my word, I will not reveal her identity.

that was very sweet. I do know Charlies parronts. I wont say the rescue tho, in the event it isnt supposed to be said. They had a Severly disabled Hyacinth macaw that passed on Right before My Sampson died. That is how we met eachother, and I see them each October.

Lisa - Charlie breaks my heart. He's the type of bird I would want to adopt. What happened with the macaw? Have you seen Charlie personally?

no I have not seen Charlie personally...not sure if they would actually take him out to meet and greet. Not sure of the extent of the hole he has, and if it is easily infected. The Macaw had to have surgery to remove his feet from something that happened to him from his former owner. He was a very sweet bird. The name of the foundation and the foundation came from him. If you go to thier site, you will see the Hy.
I do know alot of really disabled parrots. A few paralized, and the people who take care of them are wonderful. They do alot of outreach programs and I have met Nikki, a paralized Grey, and Baby a paralized mexican red headed amazon.
(( I know lots of people in these there parts of da woods. ))
