EDIT Did i not just say i would rather see no parrots in captivity? I have never gone to a breeder for a bird and never will Yes my birds are adopted if not technically adopted, I bought them off sombody who could no longer care for them, or no longer wanted to care for them. i cannot believe im here tryin to defend a woman for tryin to do what she loves.....what happens lola when your birds have populated your avairy for you?? no more babys???
to me that sounds like your too cheap to go out and buy birds that need a home you would rather risk your birds lives by breeding to fill your aviary...if you want to take an unrational approach so can i

I think it means that Parrotlets over here arnt as common. And i would like to see 1 clutch of babies that i got to handfeed live in an aviary. Unlike at a breeders where their stuffed up in cages all day.
And you just said it, Breeding is risking birds lives. So you support your friends idea of going out and buying a whole bunch of birds just to risk their lives. Glad you went back on your word there. |

im not getting nasty lola is being unrational..its ok for her but not anyone else..as for a whole bunch of birds its 1 pair of greys 1 pair of blue cheeked amazons and 1 pair of 28's and a pair of quakers...the only one you could count as common there are the greys..as for the rest i no of maybe one breeder hand rearing quakers..maybe another 2 up north who breed 28's none that i ahve heard of in ireland breeding blue cheeked zons...but feel fre to correct me if you know of any...definately there is none within a 50-100 miles from here..
anyway lola you should not assume they will be stuffed in cages all day...i didnt give details about how she is treating them...ye have just assumed this woman is as bad as those money grabbing breeders that was a dime a dozen...nothing i can say will change your minds because they are already made up (which btw i think is also unfair, how can you possibley comment when you do not know the situation these birds will be in??)

Yeha my minds made up, Sombody who goes out and buys 4 pairs of birds Just to breed is being selfish and is just looking for money, seems like her way of still raking in the cash after shes retired since as you said these birds are rare.

lol raking in cash?? between feeding and caring for these birds you cant possibley think she will be rakin in cash..do you not think that more people should be able to have access to these breeds of birds who are rare enough in ireland??
you have no right to put someone down for doing exactly the same thing you are doing..only difference is she is giving them to responsible homes to let other people feel the joy of being a parrot owner

Thats not the only difference, shes going out and buying these birds just so she can breed them. Maybe people over there dont care about birds. Not my problem i guess. I hope you two can get enough satisfaction out of your little Buy and breed business and Can earn enough cash to help cause your country to be overpopulate in parroet. Hey maybe you guys can be the Breakthrough! you can be the cause of the start of an avian rescue over there. Sure looks like whats going to happen. No need to reply to this message, You wont catch me reading it.
