Some of the sites ... have free shipping over a certain $ amount....

But I would probably buy locally also... if anything comperable was available...

PetCo. and Pet Smart ... here want better than $7 for 1/8 inch 10 ft cotton or sisal rope.... paid less than 1/2 that price including s & H from Bird Paradise..plus order seral additional items also.... polyrope $2.75 PER YARD
for 1/4 inch .... got it for 55cents per yard online.... and those are just examples of things that I could get local...

Not counting ... stuff that I have never seen in local stores...

Sooo... I am better offf shopping for biry toys and stuff ... on line.... just have to wait for it to get here.... before I can restring or make new toys...

I always get in trouble when I buy parts to make my babies toys. Always go nutty because I always find really cool things!!! I get most of my stuff from the dollar stores since my guys go through it really quickly, but another place I get stuff is ebay. There are quite a few people who sell toy parts and you can get some awesome deals. Just search for "Parrot toy parts" and you usually get a large list. There are some great deals on there.

I saw stuff on ebay and it was cheap! I have to be honest, I dont really understand how ebay works. The prices said "bid starts at..." I was like "bid?" But today was the first time I EVER order anything online so...just let me get warmed up a bit

Leigh, Ebay is fairly easy. It's an auction site, and what you do is figure out how much you're willing to pay for an item, and bid that amount. It'll only go to the most you've put in if others bid you up to that amount. They may outbid you, but if you've put in the most you're willing to pay right at the beginning, and stick with it, then you won't be sad if you don't get the item.

A couple of things to watch out for:

1) S/H prices. Some sellers on Ebay make their profits in the s/h fees they charge. A good deal isn't REALLY a good deal if the s/h charges are WAY high--and if there's something wrong with the product and you have to return it, well, no one EVER refunds whatever they charge for s/h.

2) Snipers. Many people use online sniping services to come in during the last seconds of an auction and outbid you. Enough people use those services that you might want to think of using them, too (google for "sniping").

Oh, and don't forget to check sellers' feedback. Anything under about 99% positive might make you want to see the commentary and be cautious about using them.

So based on your online shopping experience, you would say this site looks good? I thought the bead prices were awesome!
