Hi Santa Galah!
This is my first Christmas as well and I think I figured it all out - I can ask for presents, right? I swear that I was a good birdie - yeah, I nip quite often, but it's only so mommy knows that she has to give me head scritches...Well, I don't need more things - mommy made me a nice cage and I have a super-dooper playgym and loads of toys. So, I'd like to ask you for something different - can you make daddy be here all the time? He's soo much fun. I love my mommy, but she's just not as clownish as daddy is. He's only here 4 days a month, and that's just not enough. Also, I don't wanna go to birdie camp - mommy told me that it'll be fun with the other birdies and that I'll have a christmas stocking with presents, but I want to spend Christmas as home with my mommy and my daddy (they said they had to go to another continent to see Grandma and Grandpa which I haven't met yet - why can't they bring me with them) Help, Santa!!!! Little Valo PS: If you let me spend Christmas with mom and dad, I promise that I won't nip again....

Dear Santa Galah;
I never have enough of those beautiful wooden balls of many colors strung all together in a toy. They're my favorite, and I love splitting them open like nuts. Momma says I've been a very good boy, and that she loves me very much, so may I please have about 10,000 of those balls, strung together all over my cage and play area? Momma says that's a good number to ask for, 'cause they MIGHT last me a week or so, that way :-). Your favorite Goon, Bob

Dear Santa Galah,
FOOD PLEASE!!! Thanks! RED Dear Santa Galah, Seeing as how I am a big girl now, reaching the double digits of a whole 10 years old!!! I keep hearing that you don't exist. Now, also being headstrong, I tell those folks that don't believe that they can take a hike, and since they don't believe, you won't visit them. I think I convinced a few of them. I've been a good girl, and I'm very pretty, so I would like some toys. Can I please have Red's toys too since he's only asking for food? I'll try to share, I think; that will be my new year's resolution. Thank you! Tiki

Hi Santa Galah!
I'm Jiminy and this is my very first Christmas ever! I"m glad you're here, I don't know any human words yet to talk to the big human santa! I wish to go home as soon as I can, but I sure am going to miss my sister and all my different friends so I really would like it if there were fun toys and exciting new things waiting for me! I hope my new owner is as good a cook as she thinks she is, because I just know I'll be subjected to all sorts of birdie concoctions, I just hope I have a big, curious appetite to tolerate all the spoiling!

Dear Santa Galah:
My name is Buster and I'm that poor little lost pearl cockatiel that was wishing to be found about this time last year. Well, you sure granted my wish last year! Cousin Dave found me wandering down the sidewalk and took me home to Daddy Doug and Daddy Kent. They have taken great care of me. I have a big, nice cage, a HUGE playstand all to myself and a little playgym on the coffee table where daddies feed me from their hands every day.This year all I want is a little more courage! Daddies want me to trust them more and I want to let them give me little pats and head scritches and I'd love to step up on command but I'm sooo scared sometimes. Thanks, Santa Galah! |

Dear Santa Galah;
As others have also said, this will be my first christmas too. I've already got the greatest present I could ever have: a caring loving home. At first, this family had wanted to take my younger sibling (I have an older brother too, but he's not very nice). Unfortunately my younger brother wasn't very healthy and sadly he passed away before they could take him home. The family was heart-broken. Instead of giving up on having another Fid though, they came back and decided to take me! I was so surprised they wanted me. Not many people who visited the store I was at would even look at me. You see, I have trouble with my one foot and stand a little funny. This family didn't care about that at all. Since I came to their home, things have been absolutely great!! Every day they take the thing off my cage, they talk to me and give me the most wonderful touches they call "skritches". It feels so good to have them scratch & rub my head. (I have real trouble reaching some spots myself because I can't open my one foot.) I have a beautiful cage all to myself. There's no older brother to pick on me & chase me away from the food dish anymore. My cage is so cool - it has so many toys I don't know what to play with first. There's a series of perches, ropes & ladders, so it's really easy for me to get around. I always have a good supply of yummy pellets and fresh water. I even have a third dish with a special bird trail mix. Every day they bring me a fourth smaller dish with even more delicious things they call fruits & veggies. There's a playset right next to my cage with a short ladder so I can get back & forth. The only thing so far that I'm not too fond of is my flock makes me put on this strange fabric thing called a flightsuit. It's a little uncomfortable when they're trying to get it on me, but I don't complain too much and it's not that bad once they're done strapping it on me. Once that's on I can go to my favourite place - riding around on one of their shoulders, snuggled up against the side their neck. I love my new flock. They have all taken me in and tell me "I'm the 8th member of the family now". There's a very kind man with long hair and a fuzzy face. He spends the most time with me. I worry about him though. Many a time when I'm on his shoulder, he suddenly starts to bend over and makes sounds like he's hurt. I wonder if I was gripping him to hard, but he reaches down & covers his tummy, like something just poked him so I don't think it has anything to do with me. I try my best to comfort him - I nibble his ear & preen his hair till he straightens out. There's also a very kind woman. I like her a lot too, but she goes outside quite often to do something called work. I like this funny little girl too who loves carrying me around and tickles me under the wings. A little blue & white bird lives upstairs, but I don't see him that much. He lives with an older woman that wears this thing that holds strange chunks of glass over her eyes & a much older man in an odd chair with big wheels. There's also this big grey shaggy dog, but he's actually nice(though I wish he'd stop trying to kiss me! His tongue is bigger than I am & he keeps knockin me over with it!) I can't think of anything to ask for myself, though the man says I could use a few packages of the funny cotton pads that go into that flightsuit thing. I'd appreciate if you concentrate your efforts on helping the rest of my flock. Oh yes, even though he didn't treat me all that nice, could you please help my older brother to get a flock as nice as mine. Thank you! Grace, the White-Capped Pionus

Dear Santa Galah
This has been a good year for me Santa. I got my 3rd home this summer, 4th if you count the shelter - I made lots of friends even if they weren't Budgies. This new place is OK. I have a big job keeping them disciplined but everyday they learn something new so eventually they'll be able to do whatever I want or need, quickly & efficiently.Ive been a good Budgie - have even tried out this new idea about flying to them for my Millet. Unfortunately they've been forgetting to put the Millet back in the cage even though I have learned to fly down to them from on top of the lady's wall-hanging. So of course I'd like lots of Millet in my stocking & Budgie videos. I like the sprouts in my cage but I think a little variety would be good. A really good play gym would be nice - they tried & I hear they're going to try again - I don't want to hurt their feelings but have you seen the gym?? I don't know how good you are at sneaking in a few things like shiny bells. Anything shiny [the back to the swivel chair just isn't working out too well] is great - maybe a shiny food dish - I think they'd go for that. Say hi to the Elves & I've already had some experience with wrapping paper so don't worry about using shiny paper. ![]() Last edited by homebird; 12-07-2006 at 10:57 PM. |

Hi Santa Galah,
My name is Tjinimin and I am a Princess Parrot from Australia. Don't you think I'm pretty? And I have a real cool purple butt! I think I've been pretty good, I don't bite or squawk too much unless I am trying to attract attention, because it really is all about me! Do you think I could have some more mirrors? There really isn't much to look at around here so I would like to look at myself. Thanks so much!
