For all you nanday lovers
Here is our newest rescue in.
Bandit the nanday. What makes Bandit so special is he/she is a wild nanday! She was found with head and wing injuries and brought to a local wild bird rescue Pelican Man Sanctuary on the first of November. They have an onsite vet and nursed the bird back to health before calling us. Now our job is to get this guy at least stepping up on a perch so he will not be a caged bird. I am sad for Bandit. It is so hard to go from the wild to a cage. But he can never be released because of Florida law and because his wing was so damaged. I love the wild nandays that fly around. You can hear a flock coming a mile before you see them. Then they fly over your head 15, 20, 30 in a flash of black, green and red. Everyone of them screaming their hearts out.They are a joy and my favorite thing about Florida. Lynda

yeah, and stay away from stores or any place where you could possibly run into a bird....
seems like my approach of be-birding my BF went overboard... when we got the sun i was kinda like "well, babe, it's enough for a while now" and the response was "we could buy a house and get a bird room, and then we could get a few more fids"  what did i do????edit: well, not that i don't want to - especially if i come across dolls like the CL birdie [wondering: do i need a car?!]
