Is it the phase of the moon???

Or could it be the hair cut? I got my hair cut Wednesday went right to work until 2:30pm. I didn't think Merlin noticed the hair cut, actually I didn't even give it a thought until Thursday morning when he was EXTREMELY cranky!!! He bit my son when he tried to give him fresh food and has lunged and hissed at me every time I come near him. The cut is just a shorter version of what I had before so no drastic change.
OR could it just be the full moon????
How long will it take him to forgive me for the hair cut???? until it grows again???
Sally

LOL - can't tell you whether it is the hair or the moon, but sure is interesting (can i say funny?!).
well, you know though, that men go crazy whenever it is full moon?! (at least MHO ) so maybe the same is true for the bird

Well when I had Gizmo ( CAG ), he hated when my hair was down, he wouldn't come near me. He only let me near him when my hair was up. My hair then was past my rear end, now it's at my rear. So it very well could be the hair cut. Maybe he's mad at you cause he liked it longer...lmao

I have heard stories of birds that get bitey around the full moon-usually larger parrots. I must be lucky, my little guys don't know how to bite!

What kind of bird is he?
I have Asiatics and this is their breeding time of year, so right now I have some really pissy birds - both male and female.

He's a Congo African Grey. We've only had him about 7 weeks but we don't know how old he is since we abodped him from someone who "found" him and didn't want him anymore after a year or so.

Well if you've had him 7 weeks my first guess would be coincidence with the hair, and more likely not enough sleep. If he's up late with artificial lighting. Late meaning past dusk. Or too much protein and vitamin E. Or spending "too much" time in the cage. Now that he's getting settled other personality traits can be coming out but they are environmental, imo.
