Parrot imitates breaking wind

By Craig Mcdonald

PET-LOVER Jim Bauld's kind gesture has really put the wind up him.

Jim caught a lost parrot and has taken it in, only to find it will not stop making farting noises.

Now he has appealed for help to reunite the cheeky bird with its owner.

Jim spotted the African grey - worth around £700 - sitting on his wife's car at his house in Condorrat, near Glasgow, a week ago.

He used a fishing net to catch it and borrowed a cage from a friend.

He also fed it special parrot food but the animal has repaid hisJim, 49, who doesn't know if the bird is male or female, said: 'It's worth quite a lot of money and it really is a lovely creature - until it opens its beak.'

Jim already keeps ducks and chickens at the cottage he shares with wife Fiona and children Jamie, 16, and Stephanie, 13, and the family's three dogs.

He added: 'My wife's trying to claim I've got a wind problem. But we don't know what noises it will come up with next.'

The parrot also miaows like a cat, wolf-whistles and mutters expressions like, 'What's up, then?' and, 'Do you want a wee biscuit?'.

It also whistles vintage comedy duo Laurel and Hardy's theme tune.

Police last night said no one in the area had reported a missing parrot.kindness by making a series of rude noises.
