Thank you so much for all that info. I can just feel how much you love your little guys.

I gather from what you said that your 2 do not play together? So they are content to play by themselves, right?
More then content. Give them a favorite toy, a playstand.. heck a bottle cap or a pen with the ink insert removed and they can be content for hours. One thing about caiques is- they need a lot of stimulation. Like typical two year olds, they have short attention spans- but they are freakishly smart, so holding their attention for an extended period of time can be challanging. I found mine prefer foraging and interactive toys above anything else. A bowl full of foot toys is a must! It sounds like the setup you have planned would be perfect for a caique.

Re: noise level.
Its all relative. You have larger birds, and a caique will be nothing. Unless you can't stand the caique alarm call- that is a shrill, ear piercing shriek. Only when the birdie is scared, but sometimes they can get it up to a loud level. Higgins and Rosies favorite thing to do to make mommy come running is start out as a microwave.... then a cell phone... then switch to a different version cell phone. Car alarm... nope, still no mommy. So lets go to the fire alarm
Generally though, caiques are quiet birds. Like other birds, the majority of the noise is in the morning and evening. I think when people say they are 'loud' it is due in part to pitch, as I have met many more birds that are loads louder then my two!

Didn't I hear from somewhere that they tend to be a aggressive towards other birds? Are they bullies?

Does anyone have both a Caique and a Quaker? Do they get along? what about Tiels. This would be in a large indoor aviary, not caged with plenty of space.

That's my big question about caiques, too

They are so adorable and that bounce kills me. I've thought about them a lot but I'm concerned about the noise factor, giving my living situation (apartment above a business). And while I've interacted with caiques at stores, I've never gotten a clear read on their noise level

Givin their high personality attitudes, I wouldn't think caiques would get along well with other birds... mainy cause the other birds just wouldn't "get it", so therefore they (other birds) wouldn't be as much fun!

But did anyone look at Kathie's Chaos and Jimmy???

I'd really say it depends on the birds personality and how it was raised...

My caiques just had a blowout with each other, and Higgins has attacked both Paco my male DYH and Mercy the CAG. They are naturally aggressive little fidlets (towards other birds) but I have seen some who are just wonderful towards other birds- it depends on how they are raised but IMO you can still never fully trust them

I have also heard they can be aggressive. Someone told me one HUNTED down a lovebird and killed it. I love them, but since that story, I have been afraid of them with my bird. I have a very quiet, sweet Parrotlet. I never want her in any danger.

My hubby and I love Caiques, we love to watch them!

Well. Ollie...lets see.

He has the most extencive vocabulary of any bird in my home. Yep, you read it right. Ollie talks more then my greys and Double yellow combined.
His words are squeeky, but you know exactly what he is saying. He yells at Sydney, Calls for Emma, tells George to come here, and tells you up-up when he want attention. He is the watchdog of the house, and quickly alerts others to danger with his shrill. He is friendly towards the other birds, but can be aggressive also. He has no quams about nibbling on Harley's feet instead of eating dinner.
He is only loud when he wants George's attention. Compaired to a grey or Amazon, no he is not loud. He does however not know he is a caique. He thinks he's the fourth Grey here.
He will hairsurf for hours on anyone he can. He will hop, skip and jump around. He is very active. And the favorite of anyone who comes here.
As far as beaky, Yes, Ollie is beaky. I love him dearly, but I would rather handle any other bird in the house. Ollie is George's bird, and when Ollie bites George, it does not hurt. He does however, hurt me.
Overall they are great birds. Definitly not for the unexperinced. I wouldnt reccomend one for a first bird, but since you have a few differnt species already, you know how each differ and you can respect that.
