Question Wingabagos, anyone?

Have any of you folks used a Wingabago carrier for your fids?

I've been thinking about investing in one for Beetle. I want something large enough to serve as a temporary cage if I'm visiting the 'rents for the day, for example. You can also order an SST wire door for the Wingabago, which is an option I like.

Any feedback (good, bad or otherwise) would be appreciated!

The one thing I've heard is that they heat way up, way fast, just like an aquarium or a car if they're in the sun. We haven't purchased one for our birds for that very reason.

Instead, we have wire dog crates.

I have one, and I also have the Clearly Exotic ones BP sells.
I like the wingabago for the wire door feature, tho I dont have it "yet" myself. I knew it was an option when I bought it for Miss Em.
However, I do NOT like the handle. Its too small and your hand cramps easily. It might not effect you as much with the weight of Beetle, as it does with my tubsy ubsy little princess.
The clearly Exotics one is nice because the handle can double as an outside perch and is more easy to carry. The downside, is no option of a wire door, and yes, each model will heat up inside.

I think the smaller wire carrying case that kinda looks like a small cage would be IDEAL for you and Beetle. I had one for my tiels, and to this day, it was my favorite of all carrying cases.

And I have one case, off all different sizes and makes for all my guys. From wooden pigeon cages to carry several at a time, to the more fancy wingabago and red colored clearly exotic cases, for individuals.

Irish -- Good point re: the overheating. That's why I like the SST door, although I imagine that if I were driving on a really hot day it might not offer enough air flow.

Lisa -- This is what I use to take Beetle to the vet/ groomer: http://www.mybirdstore.com/product.c...product=228912.

Is this similar to what you used for your 'tiel?

I ride a motorcycle and I have been looking at those for Maxie, so she can ride with me. I read somewhere, about a lady biker that had one for her Too and they had rode over 6000 miles together. Maxie would LOVE it!

Best dogs we've ever had have been GS. Both are over the rainbow bridge now but, you just have to have one to know what I'm talking about.

IMHO, GSD's are the smartest dogs ever! They live to please you! You just gotta own one to find out. ;-)
