The vet gave Noel to one of the employees who gave Noel to someone she knew who owned a cockatiel. This person didn't really know how to take care of a bird such as this, and so not only was Noel fed a sunflower based diet (with fresh foods added), she had ALL manzanita perches that were placed at the same level as her dishes, and one toy that hung at the top of the cage, that she could only reach if she climbed to it. I would have to say that this person was really afraid of Noel cause she used a halloween bloody finger to pick Noel up with. She was so misunderstood that I assume that Noel resorted to mutilation. I do assume though that due to the ferret attack, that Noel suffered brain damage, even though there is one vet who doesn't agree with me (but that's okay, I don't trust her that much anyway!)

She came to me though, when the lady who had Noel, was going around to different houses dropping stuff off for the holidays. She saw that we had some budgies, and a cockatiel then, and asked if we wanted another bird! I've got a story that goes along with her, which I'll post later on this month!

I agree with you all, I wish I could strangle these people who mistreat birds, it breaks my heart.

Monica that is wonderful of you for taking Noel in!! She now has a wonderful forever home!!

I havent been to the Pet store in about 2weeks and there was atleast 10 conures there and now they are ALL gone!!!...Im hoping that each and every one of these Conures went to wonderful homes but, How likely is that!!!
I did go to the pet store today and there was a man and his wife playing with a 7month old VERY friendly Macaw...They said their Macaw died and they were looking for a new baby...I hope they bought him!! My only concern I guess is that this couple was pretty old but, I guess nothing I can do, but Im sure if he did get bought he will have a good home for years to come either way!

first of all - thumbs up for you monica!!!

i don't understand how people thing of animals as gifts - they are not presents. period... there's too much responsibility connected with it.
a friend of mine once wanted to get me a budgie as a present because i so badly wanted a bird. i told him too, that birds and animals are not presents. this is something the person has to get him/herself
