Rescued Bad Mouthed Birds

Ok...just got finished watching FOX43, a local TV station.

York SPCA rescued over 100 bad mouthed birds from a local York County resident. The lady was cooperative with the SPCA, agreeing that she was overwhelmed and the conditions in her home were unsuitible for the birds. She had anywhere from Macaws to Parakeets. 50 or more will be going to Florida to a rescue with a more suitable habitat, the rest will be up for adoption. They've recieved hundreds of phone calls from possible adopties for the birds.

They are asking for donations for transportation cost, feed, etc...

I'll have to check on that, I don't believe they said exactly where they were going. But I'll check and post my results.

LOL, I wouldn't mind one either!

It does make it hard to find them homes with people who have kids, preacher coming to dinner, older rellies coming by. I know there are some awesome parronts with a great sense of humour here!

I'm gonna call them tomarrow and see if I can get anymore information. They don't seem to have the other adoptable birds up on Pet Finder yet. I'll post more when I find out more.

From what I found, the York SPCA adopts birds out via Phoenix Landing, but didn't see anything about birds being transported...

They also do it out of Pet Finder but I haven't seen any of the rescues I saw on the news on there....??????
