Camille, you took the words right out of my mouth. Kelly, would you consider getting both of them? We have a lot that board at the clinic and they are all in pairs. One of the vet tech's at work has one also. She has a white bellied. The boarders, one has a pair of BH and the other has one of each. From what I see, I would lean toward the BH, but I haven't seen enough to compare. From what I've seen, they really enjoy having a playmate. Just my 2 cents.

From my experience and in talking to others, I feel that yellow thighs have more laid back tendencies which suit some people better.

i have a bh/wb caique. one parent is a wb and the other a bh. sassy has the looks of both caiques. sassy looks like the bh minus the green eyeliner that starts from the front of the lower eye to the back. hers is a faint line from the middle of the eye. she has the size of a wb(length). id say her personality, from what ive read,is both of them combined. does anybody else have a hybrid,to compare?

The people who have the black head claim that the bird will do very well without a playmate. But Lara, I have to agree that based on their reputation for playfulness, it only makes sense that they would be happiest with a playmate. Hmmmmm........

If the bird is not raised with a playmate, he will never missed what he never had. Both my birds were raised as 'only fids' and they prefer their human playmate over squabbling with each other.

Thank you for that. Looks like I am back to deciding between the two then....

I have 3 BH's and 1 WB - I would say 2 is better then one, but also that is all they have ever known!!

Now as far as personality our WB is CRAZY!!, the BH's - One is very shy, another will Jump from the cage on to you just to be with you, and the other rather just boss everyone else around the place.
So really they are all over the scale when it come to personality... Good Luck!! I'm sure you will love them no matter what!!
