Anybody here ever have Psittacosis??

Could you tell me how you all felt before you learned you had it?

I have been trying to get my new Macaw into the avian vet but it's been near impossible, they are always booked and I still have a weeks wait before I can get him in for a new bird check up. I've had the bird since before Xmas and have been trying since then so that tells you how hard it is.

He seems healthy but I'm a hypochondriac (Or at least I think I am.). I had been sick long before I got the bird (About a month before). I caught the crud that was going around my job and people are still sick, coughing and sneezing and such.

This past week I've been feeling cold even when it's warm and I felt sick last night and threw up but I have no fever. I don't know if I caught a bug at work, or if it's the diet I'm on or something else. Of course I am concerned about Psittacosis since I have not been able to get my bird to the vet yet.

I'm just curious how those of you who had it felt before you decided to see a doctor..
