Post GIGI's visit to my house...

Today, it started out as any regular Sunday morning at my home. They left, in a usual rushed big hurry, all leaving in one vehicle (dad stopping by my room to turn on my XM radio on the way out of the door) and all seemed fine, right?
Then, they came in, started eating more quickly than normal. Then, they started CLEANING? On a Sunday afternoon? Did they not hear the sermon about REST? I knew then something unusual was about to unfold.
Soon, some strangers came into my house carrying a pet carrier. As I hung upside down from my cage in my room, I could see her. Slowly, this lil trollop I've heard him talk about: GIGI...

Gigi, oozed from her cage on the stranger's hand. I thought that odd, she was so easy. I don't understand why she doesn't bite em? I mean, CMON lazy floozy, have a sense of PRIDE will ya?
But no...Not only does she not bite em, she unashamadely stuck her big peach head under their chins, she acted like she had known them forever.
But oh boy, I have to say she is beautiful. That thing on top of her head, she flips it like some deranged pink cross dressing rockstar. And she laughed. It was nice to hear a laugh come from another bird friend. Dood laughs, but Dood laughs at air, so that's not saying a lot. She had a laugh like mine, but deeper. That's to be expected..she's a BIG OLE BIRD!
I saw daddy take her into a room far away from her owners and she wasn't affected at all. I saw the owners flip her over, lay her on her back, hold her like a baby, pull her wing out (OUCH) as if it was going to be clipped. NOw, that doesn't make sense to me at all. I mean, you gotta seize those biting opportunities as they come. What a better one than when they STREEETCH out your wing. Good place for a chomp chomp. That's what I did when they finally caught me in the avian vet's office. OH..and I scream to make myself sound badder than I really am. Works sometime. Daddy buys it.
And whoa cowboy, can that girl scream.. I mean it! I I heard a couple of glasses break once. But, when they snapped their fingers at her. She stopped screaming..I think she could have held out for more..peanuts, cheese, a new truck. I mean, really... what are they gonna do? She can crack a walnut with one try. She could take em.
I saw her eat a piece of hard candy as she chewed thru it, ouuuuuu, it made my beak hurt. This is the kind of woman I might just want as my friend. She's strong...and she knows how to work people to get what she wants.
I watched her go for a friend of the family and completley scare him as she preened his hair and mustache and eyebrows. I think she realllly had the hots for him. She just didn't have to be so "Oh my gosh, take me now" with it did she? I mean, she has never even MET this man before. NO respect for herself at all.
I saw her go out into the bright sunshine, even though it's cold, and just walk around on the deck. WOW..I mean she had the perfect chance to fly far away! I mean, she could fly home...fly back to the jungles or wherever her kind comes from.
More impressively than anything, I watched her set on an ole perch of mine in the living room (one I hadn't used in months that had been cleaned) and I saw her disassemble one end of it quickly with her beak and tongue. UNSCREWED a wingnut and flung it aside as if she were now bored. You know, I had to think bout this. I mean, her talents could help me! I see a breakout possible with that beak and tongue thing she has going on.
Alright, reconsidering this thing I saw dad's family really happy with Gigi. The same happy they have with me. They have been really good to me. I don't see why they can't be good to another bird. ESPECIALLY one that is as beautiful and fun as GIGI. (why does he capitalize ALL of her letters?)
You know, competition is good they say. It might be nice having someone else around to show tricks to and hack with while they're all gone. I could teach Gigi to say HIIIIII!!
And if I show her that stuff, she might in return, give me some of her beauty secrets! Yea, that's the ticket! How does she make her hair stand up like that on top?

I've got to talk to her about her lack of pride and just crawling all over any man that comes along. She's like a GIGI Spears or something. She's just confused. Over some coffee and makeup, we can help each other with our problems. Maybe she can guide me with these durn hot flashes, wanting to make nests, just being so jumpy with my hormones....I can't help myself!

Now that I rethink this whole dilemma, I'm kind of excited about GIGI coming for a month.
Can't wait even!
Cleo

Yea, what she said,
Mark

Cleo, my friend....let me warn you. They don't stop with one!

Beau and I moved out from NJ with just the human and the two fur balls. Next thing you know...."here are these cute little finches and their child doesn't like them". Well, here it is four years later and I have feathered siblings of all shapes and sizes.

Now, I must admit that the human is feeding us a lot of good things and we get to play in the backyard in our big new house, and the sun shines all of the time....but don't be so calm about that new bird. They may speak exciting new languages and know all sorts of tricks, but soon Mom and Dad will call you by the wrong name one day. My human even has been known to call me a kitty (she is so confused)

Learn from my lesson, my friend!

Scritches,
Miss Anabelle
