Yea I had a huge aviary out back a couple years back with like 10 Cockatiels and built it myself with fine chicken wire on outside so no critters (possums, coons, mice) could get in from any side and the appropriate mesh for the birs on the inner wall.... The birds never had problems but every once in awile the coons and possums would startle them and of all the years I had them out there only had 2 blood feather inncidents... granted the birds had plenty of nest boxes, branches and height to feel secure.
