I'm so happy for you - really [just part of me wishes it was me]I didn't think you'd be able to take just one - after hearing about both & having such a hard time deciding. From anything I've read about Caiques they're best off with another caique friend. They're going to look stunning together. How are they with each other at this point? Or are they from 2 different places & under quarantine? I can't remember off hand what you said before - but the BH is a mature bird isn't he/she? The baby is very sweet. I think 2 photos are not enough - ![]() |

Thanks, everyone!! Cricket was not too friendly when I first brought her home. I did not force her to interact with me. Gave her some space and a few treats. The White Belly, on the other hand, was like velcro!! She climbed up to my shoulder and surfed through my hair and chortled all the while. I put a towel on my bed and gave her some foot toys. I swear she rolled around on her back with those darn toys more than she stood!! She had me in stitches at times.
This morning, Cricket is way more friendlier. She stepped up nicely for me but I can see that she is just more cautious than the other one. They have both demonstrated that they have hearty appetites. I always thought my male ekkie was a little pig with wings, but I think these caiques might just end up with that title! EDIT: Yes, they came from 2 different places so they need to be in separate quarantine for the time being. Since I have no plans on breeding them together and the sex of the WBC is undetermined, they will be separately caged. Don't know yet if they will play well together....will have to wait and see. But I'm hoping!!
