yeah, fresh/cooked stuff will spoil after sitting in room temperature for a few hours because it attracts bacteria.

birds dont usually sleep for a long time. they take naps throughout the day. after being covered up for the night, i would hear the conures running about two hours later then settle down.

for my amazon - purely because i want to avoid the overweight issues that usually afflict amazons, i take out his food bowl before covering him up at night.

shadow usually wakes up around 2 or 3 am for a little snack. actually i take that back.. i dont think he wakes up for it--more like sleepwalks to his food dish lol

I don't sleep in the same room as mine, but I take their food away. They were on seed diets before, so in order to get them to eat fresh food, I only give them a small scoop of seed before bed, and it gets taken away when I go to bed. I go to bed late, so they can still nibble after they've gone to sleep, but around midnight when I go, the food comes out. That way when I feed them their fresh breakfast, they are nice and hungry.
