Early morning eating

So. We have to keep Jasmine's cage in our room because the roomies don't care for her in the main room. I am a VERY light sleeper. Even the slightest noise wakes me. Lately every morning at 4 am Jasmine will wake me with the crunching of nuts. I'll also hear her climbing around quite a bit. Is it normal for birds to wake during the night and eat? Is it normal for birds to wake during the night and move around in general? I mean I put her to bed around 9 pm and get her up around 7 am. I should think she would sleep all night. However, I guess she probably naps during the day since I work 8 to 5.

I was reading something the other day that someone had written, comparing their ekkie to their african grey. I think it was the grey who was the nocturnal nibbler but her birdie went about exploring things during bedtime too.

My ekkie typically sleeps through the night, the conure is another story!

We all had to share a room at my parents house and I can't begin to count the number of nights my conure woke me up. Sometimes from falling off his perch, sometimes just climbing around...my favorites: when he'd BANG a toy off the side of the cage--right next to my head thank you...or suddenly start screaming.

I don't know about early morning eating but about 3 hours after Doyle went to bed last night I heard him crunching on some seed.

I can't say that my guys have been night time munchers, they both sleep through the night. As soon as lights go out they climb up to their respective perch and swing and they stay there til morning. Lulu has had night frights so I doubt she would venture off of her sleeping perch in the dark, and Jerry stays on his swing.

Odd, but interesting

Does she have a big breakfast and a big dinner? If so, at night since you're changing the food in the morning anyway, give her some fruit. So the crunching wont happen. In the morning, give her back her regular food to keep all day.
