my fids of course!!
I have been letting Benji and Zoey's flight feathers grow out so I can lessen the number of feathers clipped.
Benji has enough feathers he can almost fly. He can hover and make it across the room and thats it. Yesterday he suddenly figured out he could fly! While in flight. So he quit flapping! Like a rock he fell. The look on his little face. He was still more interested about whats on the floor tho.
Zoey on the other hand has no idea what her wings are for. She flaps them and uses them for balance. She was never fledged so doesn't know how to fly. From her actions I am not sure she really is interested in flight. If she is on the ground and wants someplace else, Papa takes her there. In danger? She rings my pager and there I am!! She imitates my pager exactly and she only uses it in emergencies, like she needs a scritch or something.
Sophie is so funny. I'm also letting more of her flights grow back so she can glide down a little better. Well as soon as she thinks she can fly she heads for the glass door. I can hear Braveheart yelling.......... FREEDOM........so I say ok and we go outside. Guess what? She tries to fly off out there too!! Only her destination isn't "away" its my front door! LET ME IN!! So I'm guessing if she could fly, it would be out the glass door around the building, I better be fast, and back in the front door because its all open and wild and stuff out there!!
(no I will not test this theory ok?)
It was really good day yesterday with my birdies!!!
