Pita & I have had a busy couple of days......I'll start with last night & work my way to today.
My new house is new construction. In fact it's so new, there are only 3 buildings up, out of like 20, and I'm the only one living here at the moment. Well with all construction, the little mice look for a warm place. 2 of them have found my house. The first time I saw one was the night I moved in....little varment came from right under the fireplace. Reluctantly I set a trap. Hadn't seen him since then......until last night

I'm sitting on the couch relaxing...the bird is eating and chattering away...when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye, I see running from the dinning room my little grey friend...he leaps under the vent on the fireplace......I run and do the only thing I can think of...get some duck tape and tape the damn thing shut. There, that'll show him! But wait, he had a friend....who ran to the fireplace, but couldn't get in, so hightailed it in the other direction...under the couch to Pita's corner. Now I was freaked out! I didn't any sighn of him the rest of the night, so naturally I have no idea where he is! Like any respectful girl...I started crying...lol...grabbed Pita, and brought his cage upstairs....heavy sucker that cage. Pita slept in my room last night. I was fearful that the mouse would climb up his cage, and freak him out.
So, today I went to Petsmart, and bouhgt a nice smaller cage for him to sleep in...of course I had to buy him new toys, and perches, a swing, and a new snuggle thingy. It's a perfect sleeping cage, not to big, but not to small. He played in it for quite a while, and seems to enjoy it. I also bought him the coolest little playgym...it has a swing, lots of perches, rope with little plastic thingy's on it, a ladder & a treat cup. He's on it right now. Correction, he is now under my shirt...lol
I also stopped at Home Depot, and got some mouse traps, but the kind where they go in and don't come out. In case Pita happens to find one, they are safe as he won't come into any contact with whats inside as it's sealed all for the little hole the mouse goes in, and they won't be near his cage anyway. I won't let him near them. I was walking around with him under my shirt, in tears...telling him, I wouldn't ever let anything hurt him...LOL I was pathetic!
Anyway, feeling much better tonight. I'll set the traps tomorrow, and tonight and so on, Pita will share my room. He's so good, as soon as I cover him, he gets quite, and doesn't stir until I uncover him.
So he had a spectacular Xmas, and doesn't even know it! lol
