The wall...my goodness, the wall.

So what are some tricks you guys use to keep fruits and veggies from splattering and drying on the wall behind the cage? Do you put something up? Do you use a specific cleaning product? I'm thinking I'll just have to sand the stains down and repaint the wall before we move out of this apartment! Don't get me wrong, it's not like ALL over but it's noticable on a white wall!!

Also, we have been taping up some paper towel on the wall behind where the food bowl is especially when she has pomegranate, but she'll still take pieces of fruit and veggie to the other side of her cage and flick it around.

Cut a length of plexiglass and attach it to the cage where the food dishes are located.. then you just have to wash the plexiglass after each meal instead of the wall.

Or- you can get a clear shower curtain, attach to the wall, and wipe that down after each feeding.

Hey! Those aren't bad ideas! I was actually thinking about the shower curtain idea! Is that what you do?

Anyone else's ideas? I just love hearing different ideas for anything

I did it for a while. The only pain I found- I tacked mine up with normal pushpins cause was in a rental house- you couldnt apply a lot of pressure to wipe otherwise it would all come tumbling down...
I am thinking of doing the plexiglass bit myself for my caique- he is the messiest eater and my walls look horrible. Plexiglass is easy to work with, and you just drill a couple holes and attack with SS hardware- someone told me S hooks work best.

I just wash the walls...I use one of those Mr. Clean magic erasers or clorox wipes and it takes everything off- even Ollie's treasured pomegranate.

I installed 4 x 8 foot sheets of plexiglass to the walls. It also preserved my mural.

That's what I will be doing when I upgrade my bird room. We made it ourselves with plywood and it does look cheap. Fortunately, my birds are entertaining enough so no one looks at the construction!
