Hmmmmm...

if i was looking for a bird that i wanted to talk, with large vocabulary, and clearity (easy to understand) what kind would i be looking for? im single and it dosent have to be kid friendly or a family type. my evenings are free (homebody) so i have time to spare. i read on here, somewhere one of you said that, one shouldnt look for talking ability primarily, but firstly a good bird that you are compatible etc. and that talking is just the iceing on the cake. forgive me but i cant remember the quote word for word, but that was the jist of it. of course i would take all of that into consideration, but it would be nice to have one that starts talking young and is understandible and developes a wide range of sayings to intertain both me and other folks + be a good friend and companion to me. if you could give me some types to look into i would educate my self to that type, way before bringing one into my home. hey this is all pipe dreaming really, cause i realy like my zebras. but reading about how much fun you all are haveing in the tame bird sector. makes me want to try it some day if i ever can afford taking that on, both financially and resposiblly. i researched zebras quite alot before i atempted to breed them, and they are pretty much low maintainance birds. i saw the attachment about the bird with some 900 word vocabulary, that could carry on a coversation and i was amazed. i know that must be rare but it makes one wonder just how smart they really are. if we new that, the we would now better how to go about training them. no wonder they knock on our heads and say "anyone in there?"

when i bought him i was told that he would talk it would just take him a bit longer to pick up things and that he would never have a huge vocab..it wouldnt bother me if he never talked hes just such a cute little boy...he has been mumbling for a couple of month now but nothing you could understand..hes still not 100% but even strangers can hear what hes saying so its better than nothing...

i should be able to get audio of him in the new year... phones on the blink and i cant download voice recordings off it for now

I didn't know King Parrots could talk either. Most Aussies keep them as aviary birds. What's his personality like?
