Does Anybody else go over board buying stuff for their birds or pets?

Today I went shopping at a local pet store. I bought bags and bags of parrot food, cockatiel food, parakeet food, lots of toys, and other stuff I thought would be cool for my babies to have. I spent $655.32 in one day. OMG I didn't know shopping was this fun! I usually only spend about $150 every time I go, but this time I really went over board. Does anyone else do this?

I can spend a few hundred dollars easy on food and toys if I really wanted to. Same for my dogs and cat.. Now that we have the Macaw we buy the HUGE bags of parrot food that run around $70, plus a bag of pellets that run around $50. Add toys and such and I'm broke..LOL

Nope, never, not me, huh uh..... I just take the bill and divide by the number of pets, two cats plus 39 birds (well there are baby finches, so even more birds).... I am hardly spending anything if you look at how much per pet.

Yea, I know what you mean, we say Max is Tarzan or a Monkey because he goes from toy to toy across his 6 foot lg cage and loves it. Its easy to go overboard, everytime I go into a petstore at least one new toy or treat is purchased for all my kids (6) total, including the dogs, It can be deadly.

I curb my overboard spending by going to the dollar store, craft store, home depot type store and the toy sections of Kmart and Walmat for stuff that I can make my own toys with. I will spend hours instead of $$ making all sorts of concoctions of toys. Allthough, I do spend lots and lots of time and $$ gathering the items to make toys, but one toy could cost ... lets say $20.00 at the petstore and I could for $20.00 gather enough to make 4 or 5 toys if not more.

The best reward is when they actually play with them and like them, I really like to make puzzles for fids
