Finally Adopted a MRH Amazon after much research.

Finally after tons of probably stupid questions to all of you, we went to vist several different breds of differant ages.

First bird, Mini Hans Macaw, Funny, my husband really wanted this bird and the very first bird we went to see lunged on to his top lip and drew blood. That made my decision very easy on that bird, If he is going to bit him straight off then Im not going near him and (I have never met an amimal or critter that didnt like my husband).

next was red headed amazon, Giligan who we ended up adopting but not at the moment, Gilligan seemed a bit skiddish, but did not bite but after the first bird I was a little afraid. I am scared of the larger birds and these were med. size birds, but compaired to Max our Sun..

Well to make a long story short, we visited several other types of birds for adption and kept going back to Gilligan... I was still wary. Gilligan sure made me look like a fool. He adapted within 15 minutes of bringing him home. He took to both of us and kept talking up a storm and even liked Max's too small jungle gym, which by the way Max doesnt care less about normally, but you should have seen Max when Gilligan went on it. Funny Funny..

Last pic is of Max going NUTS OVER THE INTRUSION IN HIS HOUSE!!! LOL!!!

I agree, my husband wanted to switch out ladders from the one that came with our zon to one that was in max's cage because one was longer than the other. I told him that is fine, but they both need to be cleaned and disinfected thouroghly first.

What other measures should I take? They each have there own cage and I would not even let them get close to each other yet. Max's gym had just been cleaned and disinfected.

Thanks for the advise, appreciated very very much.
