Parrotlet Help!

I need help sexing my Parrotlet Pickles.

Pickles has blue near his eyes... A blue/purplish rump but not his wings. He has no blue on his wings whatsoever, his wings are just as green as a females.

Pickles has a huge vent area as well, not sure if he's horny or if he's trying to lay eggs... lol

Oh and he plucks all around his neck area, front to back so I cant see coloring there. Pickles was once sexed as a female when the owners bought him, not DNA. Now everyone told me that Pickles is a boy. He acts like a boy, but he looks like a little girl. Help?

Oh and please tell me why his vent is so large! By the way, he's been to the vet and he's healthy, other than the yellow feathers on his back and his plucking, he's perfect.

Pickles is a girl... egg has broken inside body.... various vets (7? including Dr. Speer) will not operate on her cause she's so small... doubtful she could expell the egg on her own... bad situation...

main thing I don't understand is the extra amount of blue on her body...

How would you know an egg has broken inside her body? Just curious. The blue behind the eyes is usually indicative of a male, yes/no?

Kathie, I'm only going based on Liz's answer to me. Like previously stated, Pickles rump has been enlarged... Pickles was jumping around, then all of a sudden went still... wouldn't step up... then Liz noticed a liquid, and when checked her rump, noticed what looked like pieces jabbing out of body.... as I understand it...

Kate, I've asked Liz, but hasn't replied.... she's having a tough time cause no one will operate on Pickles...

I must be missing something. There is no such post from Liz here. Something is strange. That post is not showing up at all on my computer. Only that she is looking to sex the bird. Very strange.

It's in the first post... unless you mean some of the other stuff I posted. Kate, yes she has called the vet place, and they wont operate... said many places are telling her to put Pickles down, even though there may be a chance that she can pass the eggshell...

I've had a chat with her. Said to keep up warmth, hydration and the normal sick/injured bird nursing. Also trying warm water to help relax the area. Can only go by what is being said. Also suggested calcium liquid as per directions and if possible a trip to the vet for prophylatic antibiotics just in case. I fanyone else has any ideas one of us may be able to pass them on. Pickles breathing is fine, even and "normal" no tail bobbing at this stage.
