Dave and I watch a great deal of anime. I've been watching fansubs for as long as I can remember and I've picked up quite a bit of conversational Japanese (can't read or write it, but I can manage some phrases that won't cause an international incident). However, becasue the fansubs are, well, subtitled, the Japanese dialogue remains intact, cursing included.
I worry a little that one of the boys, because their perch is close to the TV set, will start caling out in Japanese that isn't particularly polite.

Last thing I need is for Bob to start yelling out 'Baka!' (trans: "Idiot" mixed with "Moron") when my mother comes over.

So far all they've picked up are some of the sound effects. I swear, I think Bob was attempting to replicate one of the mecha from Eureka 7 (a show, like many, involving saving the world with giant robots).
