I can't wait until you post the info. Because of my extremely limited budget I've been buying lights and fixtures for my birds one at a time. 2 down, 2 more to go. And I really want my parrotlet pair (breeding) to have FS light. I'd love to be able to pick up a bulb at lowes and not pay 20+ shipping online for a bulb.

well as much as I do not like to admit to defeat, the CRI rating is 82, for my bulbs, but I wll continue to use them for now, my birds get alot of sunshine in their rooms from their windows. And these have definitely birghtened up the rooms.

Darnit! I was so hoping that your findings would have pulled through. I really, honestly, and truly wanted to be proven wrong. I guess, I'll have to stick with the more expensive commercial bulbs for now. Poohie!
Thanks for sharing your findings and honesty with us though.

I still plan to search on. The funny thing is when we were looking at different bulbs, there were lots with over 5000k and CRI higher than 90, but they didn't say full spectrum, I guess it is in the bulb and how they treat to let out uv's or not???? I found lots of full spectrum online with over 5000k and high CRI, but I wanted to be able to walk into a store and buy it, and it not cost a fortune!!! Silly me

I'm very interested in Full Spectrum Lighting myself. On top of the benefits it would have for my birds, I suffer from SAD, and am a graphic artist/photographer as well.

I'm just calculating the cost of installing FSL in my entire house.... >XD And then my head just spins.

those look really good. The thing I would be concerned about is the high heat range of 5500k. I read that that range is good for breeding. I have only read tat once so far though!!!

I agree too that it would be nice to find FS bulbs that I don't have to pay the shipping on. Not to mention that none of them are cheap!! lol
