OK, my female tiel has 1/2 happy hut with a perch. At night, she faces inward and sleeps in it or she might go there during the middle of the day to nap. Sometimes she looks behind it to see what's there (a mirror) or pushes it into the corner of the cage or away from the corner of the cage. It is in the corner of the cage closest to the boys cage. (and is as close as its going to get). The boys have a happy hut with a double perch. It took them about 2 months to figure it out and they wouldn't go in it at all. Now they sleep in the hut, each on a perch facing each other. Occassionally, one will go in during the day for some "alone time". It's so cute but no way to get a picture with them in it. Here's one without them. That's Ladybird on top of the cage. None of them are cage possessive.

LOL, it's good to know that if, god forbid, I should have to give up Pita, there are people who will take him. That's comforting for a mother....LOL

I've noticed since I got him a sleep cage, and put him to bed earlier, he seems happier, and more playfull and content.

He's my little pumpkin, and if conversing with, and romancing his happy hut makes him happy, then so be it....he's also eating like a pig....lol

Chaska actually has two happy huts-the one in the main birdroom and one in the bedroom cage (her condo)! LOL She loves them and just snuggles in like a human does under the covers. I think Pita is just getting comfy!
