Post GIGI's step-father....

If I were a bird, I would have plucked myself over whether or not to get this M2. It'd be a short pluck, cause I ain't got not more hair anyway.

We're all different and I don't take bringing another bird into my family flock lightly. It's the "C" word. Not Cockatoo...it's committment.
Men..fearing committment I guess. LOL.
I've become friends with GIGI's family and they trust me. They have said that should I not get her, that they will not be parting with her. But, they know that should I take her, that they are comfortable with it, and that means a lot to me.
So, I've reached a good solution for all parties involved. I'm going to be sort of a step-father to GIGI for awhile. On the weekends, the family has graciously agreed for me to come to their house, spend alone time with GIGI, (she has her own room), a couple of hours, teach her some tricks, bond with her I guess you might say. Then when it warms, I can take her outside as well.
Then maybe take her out on some trips in her carrier but bring her back to her home. Let her learn us a little more as well. Then, expand on that situation as it happens.
I have some things to work on with Cleo as well. Some goals I had. But, first I need to get her out of her hormonal stage and proceed from there. I want to get Cleo more with differnt people and fun things. Travel her more...

To be honest, I feel GIGI is the bird for me and my family.
Before I took Cleo in I was able to have 6 months with a YNA and that gave me and my family a good feeling about bringing Cleo in.
I don't know anyone else with a too here. And even if I did, it doesn't matter, cause they are not GIGI. GIGI is very individual as you could see by the video.
I know that some would just jump in there and bring her home and whatever happens happens. Some, have told me to back away and run from a too no matter what.
I have to see for myself, before I do anything. I don't take owning another bird lightly, no matter the breed or size or affect.
So, that's where we are. This weekend, my kids and I are going to the Bird show in Memphis. I will get GIGI a toy and on Sunday, I'll have my supervised visit, watch a movie with her, play with the toy. LOL. Can't wait.
It's been a very odd situation. I've got a certain feeling that GIGI will end up at my home, but I don't like rushing things. I like to make informed decisions that are best for everyone. I guess that's why I've had 25 great and VERY fast years of marriage this year.
I wanted to thank all the input from here. BirdBoard is such a great reference and group of avian people to be with.
I'm very relieved to have reached a comfrotable decision. I feel very blessed and fortunate to have this opportunity to be a step-parent.
Just wanted to update ya'll,
Mark
