Hormonal Birds

I would think it a bit early but my birds have went off the deep end. It started with the Amazons making there mating noises about a week ago since then my two female greys have been like glue to me. I take them off there cage and it takes a big bribe to get them back. The wife's Grey Lunges at me every time I get within a couple of feet from her and she tries to feed the wife when she holds her.

The worst of it is Rainbow our Scarlet Macaw she has chosen my wife and no one can get near her. She will not even take a peanut from me without snapping at me. If rainbow is out of here cage she has been getting down on the floor and searching the house for my wife and don't even think about getting in her way.

Hopefully this won't last to long but it is pretty early this year.

We've got hormones running rampant here too. Between that and the recent full moon it's been interesting.

My Big boys are also in full swing..

Max regurgitated on my shoulder.. so his shoulder rights are hereby revoked albeit on a temporary basis.

Mat the Cranky Lilac Amazon has decided I'm not all bad & started the Amazon love squawk. I won't even tell you what he decided my forearm was good for today.

Are your Lilac Amazons all cranked up too??

my birds haven't started the hormonal thing yet this year, but thanks for the heads up! i will be more cautious with the amazon - during mating season, he likes to try and attack me (love my husband). yikes!

AARRGGHH! I think I am in Hormone Hell right now. All of mine are pretty much acting up. The girls are terrible - not so bad with me, but I have to break up several beak fights every time they are out right now. I seperate them on different cages and 15 minutes later they are at it again. And you gotta be careful breaking up those fights or you end up getting bit.

Booger and Buddy are hormonal with each other Booger feeds Buddy and Buddy eats it ewww. They both vie for the top mating position but since Buddy is bigger it just makes Booger fly away LOL

I am thankful to be regarded as a head preener.
