$74.00 later, I left petsmart.

We just got back from Petsmart.......food, treats, more treats, new happy hut (in yellow) for sleep cage......copy of Bird Talk (i've subscribed but won't start getting it til Feb)

I love taking Pita with me. He visited with Kim, a girl who works there, and loves him. One lady actually called him Magnificant (that went straight to his head ) We visited with the birdies they have there. He had a wonderful day out.

$74.00!!!!! and nothing for me!

I know that one only too well!!

100 bucks gone in just one day and none of it was for me! The birds ought to be happy though.

I love buying bird toys!
This is one of the things I'm so pleased about Oliver the macaw - he needs new toys all the time because he's so destructive :) :)

I used to buy toys for Buddy but he would hardly even scratch them so they just sat there. I'd move them around, dust them off, show Buddy how to play with them..... nothing.
Then Oliver came into my life, ahhhhh, finally a bird that likes to dismantle/destroy so I can buy new ones.
You'd think I was a shopper but I'm actually NOT except for bird toys. They're my kids so I enjoy doing nice things for them.

Anything bird racks up quite a bill... Petsmart and Petco, wow, they are expensive. I just prdered a Dr. Foster and Smith catalog. Plan on getting some stuff from there. Harley has grown bored with her current toys At least Dr. F/s is cheaper...

We have 2 Petco's (within 35-40 min. where we live) I'm always so disappointed when I go. Their bird toy selections are really sad. Does make it easier to walk out and still have both arms and legs though!

I am so relieved to hear that I am not alone! I love buying, looking at, reading and making bird toys! My hubby always thinks I am a weirdo whenever we get into a petstore because I always head straight to the toy section. A couple hours later and I am still talking about how good/bad the toys selection was hehee And if I'm not buying for my fids I am buying for someone else's. Stephanie's two fids Miroki and Elvis, Quaker and tiel, sure do rip through some toys.
I have to admit that I am making more of my own now cause petstores are getting to be too expensive. I browse and get ideas (or outright copy ) and go home and try to make them.
