Shelf Life and Storing Red Palm Oil?

I'm wondering what is the best way to store red palm oil and how long approx. will it stay good for? I bought a 32oz. jar - but with the little bit I use for - it's going to last a REALLY long time! Am I better off keeping it in the fridge or a cabinet? Is there a way to tell if it's going bad?

This site says; 3 years unopened/1 year opened. But I didn't read anything about storage. I store mine in the cupboard.

I store mine in the fridge, opened or unopened. When I want to use it, I put some from the quart jar into a little half pint jar and warm it in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes to soften it up. When I'm done, back in the fridge. Refill the little jar as needed.
