The dangers of Aerosol scents being used around birds

I know this has been discussed here many times but with new folks popping in and out, I thought I would offer a reminder. I had a customer approach me at the shop to talk about canaries and finches, after a few miscellaneous questions she asked "Why would they die all of a sudden?" Seems she had a few of her birds die that day. So I started with the questions about cooking, cleaning, etc. When I asked if she had sprayed anything like Fabreze or deodorizors her look told all. Her friend then pipes up from the background and says 'you did spray alot of that stuff this morning'. Please remember the possible hazards of aerosols, chemicals and scented candles.

I've never been a big candle person, but I've now sworn off them completely. Try boiling a few cinnamon sticks, orange peels, or vanilla beans in a pot on the stove. I've never tried it, but many recommend it and claims it smells wonderful and lasts quite awhile!
