What can I feed my bird?

My lory has some type of liver disease- still waiting biopsy results. My vet said no protein and no iron. That means no lory life nectar. What can I feed my bird? The vet has not called me back yet. Anyone have any idea other than fruit?

What are the ingredients in Lori Nectar? I would personally try and make a fresh fruit smoothy type thing and throw in some calcium. Throw in some milk thistle seed- that is really good for helping support the liver and regenerating it.

Awesome idea! Thank you. He is already on the thistle mixed with his liver meds. Lorylife is 13% protein- and he can't have any protein.

Thanks- will do.

Lisa
