What frustrates you about your bird....

I know what I like about birds. I'm well experienced with smaller birds/tiels, I'm actually wondering about bigger birds, specially....eclectus. . So, as experienced bird owners, what frustrates you the most with owning a bird??
EVERYTHING has something that's less than desireable.

I'm doing my research before I get an animal that I plan on spending the rest of my life with. I'm planning on getting mine July/August, unless one flies up to my door. We will be out of town the month of June and I don't want to start one out with a month vacation.
Thanks!
Mark

I have a Vos Eclectus, and she will talk up a storm.... only when I am not home!! My family always tells me about it, But I can never be a witness!!
Either that, or when she would sneak up and seek and destroy sandals of mine!!!
Other than that, I don't think there is anything. She's cool. Nothing frustrates me.

As with all animals, parrots can be difficult at times- And VERY frustrating. Like when they manage to get out of their cage while you are gone for the day and they 'eat' the Vacuum cleaner. Or, when they are having one of those days where they simply want to be LOUD. Or, when you NEED them to come out of thier cage for some reason, and they just plain don't want to... The list goes on.

But, despite all the frustrations, they are a lot of fun to live with! So, we put up with them :)

I have an Eclectus hen- She is a red sided, perhaps a hybrid mix, we aren't sure. She came to me with serious 'issues'- She was scared of people, TERRIFIED of hands, and FILTHY. She has gotten much better, but still has her moments. She also goes through hormonal phases, where she can be a real brat. But, She is still MY girl ;)

The constant clean-up!! Parrots are messy!! I swear, they should invent an olympic event for food-flinging -- I am certain I own a couple gold medal winners!!

Gypsy--when she refuses to step-up. When she blocks her cage and won't let me clean it. (although that's become a game now lol) When she pokes holes in my shirt--then pulls to make it bigger.

Harvey--when he screams directly into my ear causing temporary hearing loss and a headache byt the 3rd-4th time. That he will sit in a cage for an hour, but poops on me within the first 2 minutes.

But as you can see, still got my babies, so the pros definately outweigh any possible con!

They don't care if you're sick and/or tired and when you're either, they just seem louder.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! The mess! If Tully decides that he doesn't feel like yams (or whatever) on a particular day he'll toss it. Usually on the wall, or window, or some child walking by. Other then that he's great and well worth any amount of clean up that I have to do!

I don't watch very much TV, but it seems like whenever I find something I really want to watch, Ollie starts getting louder, and louder, and louder...

The mess also frustrates me!

Jasmine is very picky in what she eats. Also, she doesn't like to play with toys much. That's basically all that frustrates me about her.

First and foremost the mess!!! Seymour loves to throw seeds and fling fruit on the light colored hard wood floors. And he is super sneaky. He chewed up my car keys, including alarm pads and it cost 150 bucks to replace! (don't worry he didn't ingest any, he was checked out and is Ok) And for the icing on the cake, when I went to leave for an important appt. and couldn't find my keys and soon found them in the perch, chewed to pieces....Jack laughed at me when I got upset! Bunch of bullys!
