Indian ringneck or quaker?

Hi,

I have to options to buy. One an Indian Ringneck the other a Quaker. It'll be my first bird. I like to ask which one should I choose. As I've no experience about birds I thought that asking you (experienced birdboard members) is a good idea. Would you help me please?

Thanks,

First bird, quaker. IRN's can be very difficult to handle, about maybe 1 or 2 in 10 make good pets, if you get one of them they are great but can be very noisy lol. Quakers are a bit naughty too but probably alot easier to handle, the noise isnt as loud but they do make a clucking kinda sound that can drive people nuts. All depends on the bird and how you handle it. If you spend time with both the potential birds then see which one you click with. But remember when buying a bird think to yourself they are probably guarenteed to bite you one day.
In my opinion, a quaker but it all depends on you and the bird. They are both pretty great birds.

I don't know about an Indian Ringneck. I've seen them in the pet stores. They don't seem to want to have much to do with the people in the store. I have seen them having fun with there toys in the cage.
I have a quaker. He is the best. He can talk some but he wants alot of my attention. He is a great companion. I think you would really enjoy one. Oh! Yeah they do bite. Good luck in your decision.

I would also say a quaker...due to the reasons stated above...Quakers can be a naughty bird though...can be loud as well... but i love'em there awesome...they also talk quite well.

I would say a quaker too but don't get me wrong, IRN's are great birds too. Just depends on you and the bird, noise wise a quaker would be best and for a first bird a quaker, then maybe after a little while you could get your IRN.

Thank you all for advice about quaker. My husband going to be very happy about your opinions because he saw quakers at the pet store and loved them but I wasn't so sure. If I buy one I'll let all you know.
