What is your dream flock?

Felius Domesticus asked an interesting question the other day, "Is your flock complete?". I have a variation on that theme. How many of you have a "dream flock" and what birds would it include? Are you currently planning your dream flock and actively working on acquiring those birds? Do you plan your bird purchases or do they "just happen"?

Personally, I have developed some ideas for my own dream flock. I am very interested in Australian parrots, particularly the grass parakeets. Currently we have one female cockatiel, Buster. Over the next five years or so I would like to add the following to our flock:

at least one more cockatiel, but no more than four total
one Princess of Wales parakeet
one Rock Pebbler or Regent parakeet
one Australian King parakeet
one Galah or Crimson Rosella

I would like to have a minimum of four birds and an absolute maximum of eight. I am planning an indoor/outdoor flight for the house so that the birds could come and go in and out during the day but be in the house at night. I have my doubts about the rosella because they have a reputation as being rather aggressive but several sources that I have read say "they make excellent pets". Any opinions?

So what is your dream flock? Let's have a good time dreaming together!

My dream flock would be:

A B&G macaw (already here)
A Congo African Grey (that dream may not be too far away )
A female SI eclectus (if I can get the money in hand)
I would like to rescue a male eclectus
A Toco Toucan

I love the ekkies, macaws, greys and toucans! I don't know what is is about rescuing a male, but they are the ones I always see in rescues. Toucans have fascinated me since we went down to FL last year and my uncle's neighbor had a Toco Toucan. I thought he was so cool! I love the way greys are so inquisitive. I love the fact that they are so smart and you can sit down and have a 'conversation' with them too.

In addition to those I have already:

Caique
Nanday
Sun Conure
Greencheek Conure
Malabar Parrot
Major Mitchell Cockatoo (space permitting)

The first 5 I mentioned would live in the indoor aviary with all the others after the usual quarantine/vet check-up. This won't happen for quite a while though.

I already have mine
but I also like the Albino African grey,Black Palm toos and a Hy Macaw. But since I dont think anyone of them will come my way, because of the rarety and cost of the later two....I think my guys are my dream flock for me.

ALBINO African grey? They must be STUNNING! Then again, I have a weak spot for albinos.

For right now, my dream flock is myself and the Beetle-brat

Sometimes I think that it would be best for me to stick with what I know and maybe bring home another species of lovebird:
*peachfaced lovebird (normal/wild-type or orange-faced lutino mutation)
*masked lovebird (slate, violet, lutino or albino mutation)
*Fischer's lovebird (normal/wild-type or lutino mutation)
*Black-cheeked lovebird

I'm also interested in other small parrots:
*lineolated parakeet
*Bourke's parakeet
*Goldie's lorikeet

I'm completely enamored with African greys and Timnehs... and other African parrots, like the senegal, red-bellied, Meyer's and the un-Cape. I've also been tempted by the beautiful eclectus parrots. And like Lisa, I WOULD NOT turn down a hyacinth if one was offered to me For now, I'm content to visit the few that live down the road at Fancy Feathers.

It's hard to say what I really would like to have in my life as far as a companion parrot goes. I'm enchanted by the behavior, appearance and just overall parrot-ness of SO many species. At this point, I think I'll stick w/ worrying about the Beetle-brat's care. If I am to bring another parrot into my life, I'll know when it is time.
