Traveling Overseas with Congo Grey Question

Hello peoples, I havent been here for awhile as we are getting ready to move overseas to England...getting my Congo's paperwork together has been quite a task, he was required a CITES (USA) export permit that had to be fowarded along with the proper U.K. paperwork overseas...they in turn issued him a U.K. CITES "Import" permit ..yadda yadda...and cost big $$, anyhow heres my question:
The crate my Congo is traveling in will be in flight (we will be on board but he has to ride Cargo-international import regulations) and i was advised to put some kind of breathable covering over the opening (door) of his crate...not only to give him a bit of privacy but also to thwart off prying eyes somewhat. I had thought of cheeze cloth as its a lightweight fabric and he would be partialy able to see through it....but thats just an idea...he will be traveling in a heavy duty small kennel cab crate, what would you put over the front door?
Ideas and any imput from people who have traveled overseas with birds appreciated! :!:

I haven't traveled overseas, nor even on a plane with a bird, however, I do hope that your Grey makes it over safely, and back to you, when you do make the final move! Good Luck!

Another option and one that I'd probably opt for it fibreglass screening. I think I'd double it up. Its a bit more sturdy and yet breathable. They used to recommend that you wire the front of the carrier with poultry wire. I think I just might have a page about that somewhere. Let me go check.

Haven't traveled with a bird before or shipped one but I would be spooked as heck that something may go wrong so therefore I would take every possible precaution in relocating your love. You must really care for your bird to go through all the trouble of relocating him rather than just selling him to a good home here and purchasing another one there. My hat is off to you for that!....Good luck with the move.
