My boyfriend and I just bought a travel trailer this past summer. We only used it for a couple weekends so far, but are planning on doing a lot of traveling over the next year. Do any of you travel with your birds? Have RVs or trailers? We have travel cages all set up in the trailer, and when we are driving the birds are in even smaller carriers in the car with us. How do you do it?

Whenever possible, my fids travel with me. Of course, we're normally visiting my sister, who has quite a few parrots of her own. I simply load them in travel cages, snug them down in the back seat of my pick-up cab ... and away we go. They seem to enjoy the traveling or, at least, don't object. Even the twisty mountain roads don't seem to be a problem to them.

I don't camp. I prefer motels :-).
We usually travel with some of the dogs, though, rather than the birds. It's kind of hard to fit a bunch of macaws in any size vehicle! LOL!

We camp nicely with Dood the tiel. He has a cage that fits perfectly in one spot up and outta the way. He has a smaller cage to travel in the truck with us. He seems to like it. I dunno. He sings Andy Griffeth and does his regular stuff. INside the vehicle he sings loudly going down the road and looks out the windows.
Other campers enjoy him on a sunny day, we sit his cage outside with us. When we get the ekkie, the camper might be too small for both at the same time so, we might have to divide up trips...or..get a bigger camper? hmmm |

I carried my past Indian Ringneck, Baby, on a plane for a 3 hour ride from Ft. Myers Florida to Chicago Illinois and he was an angel. Didn't make a peep. However, he did get a lot of attention! Just brought him fruits that contain lots of water in a baggie such as mango and grapes.
