10 Parrots..wife hates them (well not exactly but...)
I hear it every day..."I never liked birds and now I have to live with ten of them.."
I do 100% of the care and cleaning of my birds. My wife does nothing with them or for them. I built a $30,000 room onto my house for them. Since I have some Macaws it can be noisy, since I have Greys and Tiels it can be dusty...etc... I spend alot of time and money on toys and food. I am retired and have seven grandchildren. I spend at least 5 hours a day caring for the birds. Some of them have cages, but never are caged. When my wife frequently says: "can't take it any more and am leaving"...all I can say is goodbye. My birds all love me and I will never, ever get rid of any of them. Period. All I can do is keep the mess in control.... and keep the birds entertained and busy so the noise level stays down. PARROTS ARE DEFINITELY NOT MEANT TO BE KEPT IN A HOUSE! WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE VERY SMALL PARROTS, THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE AS HOUSEHOLD PETS! I made a mistake thinking they could be good pets. They are not good pets. However, I have had my "boys" for many years and will never "get rid of them" unless I die or my wife kills me first. The person that says he has never been bit by his pet parrot...that is 100% BS. They ALL bite, just some parrots bite harder than others. My condolences to the person that had their pet birds stolen and killed. If they were my birds and I found out who did it, I would put a bullet in their head without hesitation. |

I have a wonderful hubby that loves me and all my critters that I have brought home for the past 25 years. I have 3 poodles, 1 rottie, and 4 fids at home soon to be 5. There's Davey the CAG, Margharita the blue front amazon, Alley the M2 and Sonny the Military Macaw. This week Sophie the Baby Blue and Gold comes home. I can't wait.
