Steam-cleaning vs. Dry-cleaning

I need the floors done and I'm just wondering which is safer for the birds. I'm scared that the chemicals from them will fly back into the air when i vacuum. Anyone got any ideas or opinions on it?

the dry cleaning is done all with chemicals. So I would imagine that steam cleaning, which is how I do it, with out any harsh chemicals or deodorizers would be better.

Steam cleaning all the way. We had the dry cleaning done back in June. It smelled like chemicals and was not very nice. By September, it was already dirty again. I later learned that the chemicals they use have a shampoo-like base that attracts dirt if it isn't fully cleaned. So, before Thanksgiving, we had the steam cleaning done. It didn't smell and has stayed looking great ever since. Go with steam, its much better :)
