Angie... You're Glen Allen... Close to home for me (and Glen Allen is home to Green Top sporting goods....that's my first stop on my way home!) I grew up in the Richmond area, lived there up until a year ago.

Good to see a few Virginians on the board!

Do any of you bring your FIDS with you to grocery store/bank/post office/homedepot/petstores? and if so...are they just clipped or do you have a flight suit for them...how do you do it? I know read that "miloMacaw" brings Milo to these types of places but i just wanted you feedback on this. also...should i ask like the managers of places before i do? just to give them a "heads-up"

~Nate
we do actually. When we go to the bird store for food and such we take them. Our birds are quite known there which is good since they also babysit them for us. Right now they are very free flight, but I usually keep their wings clipped. My hubby used to take the quaker all over, he has a harness and leash but he won't wear it. My hubby once took him to a car show and he stayed on his shoulder the whole day.

Another biker!!!

I grew up on a bike. My Dad owns a motorcycle shop. I hope to take a really big ride one day across the US. (It's a dream of mine) I have "new bike" fever right now.

I bought the carrier from someone on here. I still have their e-mail, but I can't find their web address. I really like the carrier, it is perfect for what I wanted. They had all sizes of carriers.

Theres a couple...

DJ feathers aviary - my fave.
DJ Feathers Aviary - Hand-fed Parrots & Avian Products - Caiques Conures Cockatiels Gouldians Senegals Amazons
near Fair Oaks mall. A home based business run by a nice couple. I buy all my food and toys from them, and that's where my Senegal came from. Since they're home based, they're by appointment only.

Featherheads
FeatherHeads - Purveyors of Fine Psitticines
near rt 28, north of dulles airport... all birds, a lotta birds. They stock cages, playstands, food, cleaning supplies, books, and toys. I bought a cage from them.

Fins And Feathers
Home
Ashburn - in the brodlands shopping center. Your classic pet store - dogs, cats, fish, and of course...birds. A small selection of toys and food, and she can order cages, too.

Lone Eagle Aviaries
http://www.loneeagleaviarys.com
In Manassas, just off of I66. All birds. I haven't been there since summer, and when i was there she didn't have a lot of stock (other than birds) but she said she could order. CAUTION - don't go there unless you call first - i think it's pretty much just one lady running the show, and even though her hours are already wierd, I think they can vary. I showed up during business hours one time, but nobody was home...

you mentioned superpetz... I would NOT take my bird in there... I get a funny feeling about that place. Most of the birds on display aren't even for sale (including a badly plucked umbrella 2), and are mean as a snake. they have ekkies and toos kept in cages I wouldn't put my senegal in. I asked to look at a bird one time and all I got was "uhh, the owner isn't here so i can't take any of them out." WTF?

At least these will keep you busy for a weekend... LOL
