thats what my gram said. but i'm a VERY light sleeper. everytime i move i wake up..which actually kind of sucks! i havent had a deep sleep in acouple years, which might attribute to why im always so tired. and she was up by my head so no worries ^_^

that is really cute.. but i would definantly be really careful and would actually strongly suggest you didnt do it again. you should never leave your fid out of the cage unattended, and if you are asleep.. thats unattended.. plus, like klamb85 said, you could roll over on her in your sleep (squish)

I don't want to be a buzz kill here either...but also remember if you give her too much attention that's what she's going to want DAILY from you ALWAYS. Until you are both old and grey, and if she doesn't get it, then she's not going to be a happy little girl. I know it's got to be hard not to snuggle that cute little thing from dawn until dusk, at least it would be torture for me, but you might want to limit your interaction with her just a smidge. Just a suggestion. Other then that I'm so happy to hear that she's doing so well and that you are both in love!

Awesome advice guys! Couldn't of put it better. This actually just happened to my friends sister not too long ago. She went to sleep w/ her Grey by her side. She rolled over in her sleep and sufficated him. If this could happen to a Grey it would be even easier for it to happen to a little Conure.

As already stated, try not to give more attention now than you can on a daily basis, it will cause problems down the road.
As to sleeping with your bird, bad idea, they need their quiet time just as much as we do. I adopted out a little bird over a couple of years ago who came to us as a rescue, this is what happened to him, he was only 3 years old! http://birdboard.com/forum/showthrea...ghlight=spikey

I lost a pet sun recently because of this, she crept into my sons bed and suffocated. He did not roll on her. She was just under the blankets. If Kona wants to snuggle get her a tent or box to sleep in. My sun sleeps in a cardboard box with a swing lid that he can come and go as he pleases, he is not locked in a box yet with the lid closed he has a dark place. The box does get a bit modified so we replace every so often.

I agree. Its very unsafe for any bird. I had a friend lose her favorite grey to the same thing. Simply climbed under her covers and suffocated. Its dangerous and preventable.
