Wild Parrots of Tustin CA Pictures

Though not as famous as their cousins up north at Telegraph Hill, we sure enjoy our local will parrots.

These guys were outside our place about 7:45 this morning....poor Sydney heard them as pacing back and for, then clinging to the side of his condo....alll the time calling back to the wild ones.

And for a change I had the camera handy!

Wow!! Fantastic photos Skip! Is this the first time that you've seen them by your house? Or the first time that you actually had your camera right there? How neat. Thanks for sharing!

Yup..first time I had the camera nice and handy. Usually have to go and hunt for it and by that time they're gone.

This am they were up in the palm & the ficus trees. Then they flew over the the cypress where I snapped them.

Took a couple of others with some in flight but they came out to blurry. Maybe next time.

Wow! They look so cool on that tree! My aunt says she hears them in Santa Ana, but I have never seen them at her house. Any idea where they roost?

We're by Irvine Blvd & Newport....in the morning the flock comes from the west & returns late afternoon....so I'm thinking they may be from the Old Orange/Orange Circle flock.

If you're at your aunt's and hear them you should grab your camera and take a stroll towards the sound..you may get lucky.

She lives down off 17th by the 55, so probably the same crew. Maybe we should have a Southern Cal party (think we actually have quite a contingent, I can think of at least 8-10 folks) and go looking for them. I bet after a few margaritas we will all see green things!

Yes, I'm sure that it's the same flock, or part of.

Great idea for all us SOCAL members to get together, look for the wild parrots and exchange some fid stories.

If you, or any SOCAL member, see the wild ones, take a few minutes and report the sighting here....
