Thanks everyone! I can't remember the name of the thread or who started it - but it is about my worries about bringing Humphrey into America when we move back. I'd have to quarantine him for 30 days and you can't even visit your bird. I am already getting heartbroken over this. Someone (I *think* it was Vankarhi) said if you bring the bird from Canada, you don't have to quarantine. I am eager to learn more about this possibiltiy. Humphrey is really attached to us and he is also cage free. I can't imagine him stuck in a cage for 30 days without us.
Does anyone know anyone who has imported a pet bird into the USA? Thanks everyone Michele and Humph |

I had started a thread called "import/export birds to australia" on it. I think it came after that...which started around Dec. 14th. Did it come from your "dream" post? Where you talked about your bad dreams about humph? I'll keep searching to see if I can come up with it.

I found it! It's in the SLEEP THINGS post by you michelle. Here is a copy of the email response from yehuda:
Michelle, here is an URL from APHIS that will give you the information that you need http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/ncie/pet-bird-non-us.html If you were to come to the US via Canada, (at least a 30 day stay), you could avoid the quarantine altogether. Hope this is helpful. yehuda Last edited by cgrite; 01-03-2005 at 10:43 PM. |
